1. Get luggage that meet all requirements or more airlines’ size. This way you can use the same for all the baggage of your travels, no matter which airline you end up with. If you are traveling light, you’ll have no trouble keeping the bag in the airline weight limit of luggage (which vary from one company to another and may depend on the duration of the trip) in order to avoid paying taxes in excess.

2. Always arrive at the airport with enough time to check luggage – even if it should be able to take on board the plane with you. Some airlines may limit you to carry your luggage on board at the last minute, so do not take the official rules for granted. (more…)
